The Host

Maryama Antoine, the creator and host of Poet on Song, is an American poet, novelist and English literature teacher. Originally from New York City, she has lived more than 20 years in Paris. A finalist forThe Ruth Lilly Poetry Fellowships, selections from her two books of poems have been read on WQXR, New York City’s classical music station, published in Spark Magazine, Editions sans Plumes, Dotting the Eye, Spectrum, and elsewhere. She has completed a first novel entitled Haïti Chérie and is currently working on a second, The Decree. Her fiction explores the ways in which displacement, migration and immigration have shaped and are reshaping cultures.
